The Therapists

Frances GoodallFrances Goodall
Cert E.C.B.S, Cert Emmett Technique
Cert Hypnotherapist, NLP, EFT and Life Coach

Frances integrates aspects of psychology, body and energy work to assist healing. Having recovered from 5 years of ME herself, she specialises in assisting others in both one to one and group work. She has been a practicing body therapist for five years, working with the Bowen Technique and more recently adding The Emmett Technique to her range of skills. These therapies are both forms of bodywork that assist rebalancing, energy release and pain relief in the body. She also practices Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT and Life Coaching, and trained with The Optimum Health Clinic who specialise in the treatment of ME/ Chronic Fatigue. Over the last three years ME/CFS/FM has developed as her main area of work, using tools from NLP, EFT, mindfulness and bodywork.

Frances develops a unique approach for the individual client incorporating the methods most needed for that person to facilitate change, clear old emotional patterns and to assist the healing of their body. Her approach often involves working with all aspects of a person: body, mind, emotions and spirit, to encourage functioning as an integrated whole. With the power of calming the mind down, learning to listen to the body, clearing old emotions and releasing tension in the body, amazing shifts can occur in energy, wellbeing and health.

The correct nutritional balance is essential for our bodies to function effectively; to help heal the body and to achieve optimal health. Helena uses nutritional interventions to help strengthen the body and overcome specific areas of weakness. She focuses on the underlying causes of ill health rather than simply treating symptoms alone. With CFS/ME there are several common areas of imbalance resulting in symptoms such as muscle pain, severe fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbance and poor concentration. These imbalances can be influenced or reversed by nutritional interventions. Biochemical testing may be recommended to gain detailed information about the individual's requirements.

Adrenal stress (stress on the body either through external factors or internal sources) and an inability to detoxify effectively often play a major part in CFS. There may be metabolic changes at a cellular level affecting energy production and the body’s acid/alkaline balance. Heavy metal toxicity and gut dysbiosis (eg. Candida) can also be factors. However, it is important to consider that every person has different triggers and symptoms which must be assessed individually.
